We are looking for a Labor Relations & Payroll Specialist to join our team and ensure the smooth management of payroll processes and compliance with Spanish labor laws. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in payroll processing, a strong grasp of labor legislation, and excellent communication skills in English and Spanish.


Responsibilities:

Payroll Management:

  • Oversee the complete payroll cycle, ensuring timely and accurate processing of salaries, bonuses, and other compensations.
  • Manage deductions, social security contributions, and tax compliance in line with Spanish regulations.
  • Collaborate with the finance department to reconcile payroll accounts and prepare payroll reports.
  • Address and resolve payroll-related queries from employees promptly and effectively.

Labor Compliance:

  • Ensure the organization’s full adherence to Spanish labor laws, staying updated on any legislative changes.
  • Provide expert advice on employment contracts, terminations, and other legal matters.
  • Liaise with external auditors, labor inspectors, and other relevant authorities when required.

Employee Relations:

  • Act as the main point of contact for labor relations, fostering a positive work environment.
  • Mediate and resolve workplace conflicts or disputes in alignment with company policies and labor laws.
  • Develop and implement strategies to prevent labor disputes and improve employee satisfaction.

Administrative Duties:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including contracts, leave balances, and performance reviews.
  • Prepare and submit all required documentation to relevant authorities, such as social security and tax agencies.
  • Support HR in drafting policies and procedures that align with labor laws and company objectives.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities to streamline payroll and labor relations processes to improve efficiency.
  • Implement best practices and contribute to the optimization of HR systems and tools.
  • Oversee employee records and documentation, including contracts, leaves, and Social Security registration.
  • Manage administrative tasks related to employee lifecycle events, such as contract renewals, leaves of absence, and Social Security registrations or de-registrations.

Minimum requirements

Requirements

  • Experience: At least 3 years of experience in payroll processing and labor relations, preferably in a similar role.
  • Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of Spanish labor laws, payroll regulations, and social security requirements.
  • Skills: Strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with payroll software and HR systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Languages:

  • Spanish (mandatory)
  • English (mandatory)
  • Any other languages are a plus.
